Manuscrito, Chapter Two

A high-proof blanco label that sits beside Chapter One on the shelf and still reads as its own release.

What it needed to do

Manuscrito numbers its main releases as chapters. Chapter One is their blanco, bottled at 42.5%. Chapter Two is a high-proof blanco at 51.55%, made at the same distillery, El Sabino, in the highlands of Jalisco.

The label had to sit beside Chapter One on a shelf and clearly belong to the same family. It also had to tell a shopper at a glance that this bottle is the stronger one. [Confirm the brief, and add anything else it asked for.]

What I made

I designed the front and back labels, made the bottle renderings and designed the sell sheet. [Confirm the full list, including a tasting sheet.]

The front label keeps Manuscrito’s blackletter wordmark at the top, with “High proof” set just beneath it. An engraved night scene fills the middle: a full moon through the branches of an old tree, agave fields running back to the hills, and a man asleep at the trunk beside a dog and a small fire. Below the scene, “Chapter Two” sits under the big M. The distillery, the altitude and Oscar Vázquez Camarena’s signature come next, and the strength runs along the bottom edge. [Who made the scene, and how.]

The back label carries the brand’s story under the line “Wisconsin Inspired / Mexican Made,” then the production details, the government warning and the codes every bottle needs.

The renderings show the label on the bottle, front and back. [Where the renderings are used: Manuscrito’s website, the sell sheet, anything else.]

The sell sheet is for distributors and store buyers. It puts the bottle beside the tasting notes and the production notes, with the bottle and carton codes a buyer needs along the bottom.

On press

Manuscrito’s copper is a foil, Pantone 876 C. [Confirm where the foil sits on this label.] The label is printed on [Label stock] by [Printer, if they can be named]. [A production note, if there’s a good one: proofs, a press check, anything that changed on press.]

Where it lives

The where-to-buy map I designed for Manuscrito in 2025 lists stores and bars in 44 Wisconsin towns, from Boulder Junction down to Lake Geneva. [Which of them carry Chapter Two.] The full list is on the in-store page.

AI on this project

[Where AI helped on this label, if anywhere.] In 2026 I built an engraving system for Manuscrito that helps new label scenes match this engraved style.
